“Be a part of our STEAM Trek building Project Team by beta testing out our newest version of STEAM Trek, share your and your students’ feedback, and be eligible for awards for your classroom!
Consider signing up to beta test our new STEAM Trek 1.2 and providing us feedback about the experience! You and your students are considered part of our build in public project team – so your input is very valuable to us here at WV All STAR, the organizations who have been so kind to provide exhibits in STEAM Trek, and your fellow educators and students.
For those of you new to STEAM Trek, it is a free web-based educational game platform developed by WV All STAR, where students can explore by free play and/or via guided “treks” and earn coins for in-game virtual prizes. In addition to the over 250 unique links shared in the original version from contributors from WV and beyond, we have added the following in STEAM Trek 1.2 for you to get a sneak peek at before the new version goes live:
- The Clay Center with unique resources in three locations – the Art Museum, Science Expo, and Library in Festival Hall
- Girls Who Code in the Science Expo room
- Marshall University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science in the Science Expo room
- SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) in the Science Expo room
- Coding 101 and Game Development 101 in the Arcade
If you would be interested to beta test STEAM Trek 1.2 with your students, please register at this link and we will send you an exclusive link to the game to gain access to the new version for beta testing with your students, along with some instructions. Please note – STEAM Trek works best as a web based game – several of the features are not mobile device ready at this point.
For those of you who provide your and 15 or more students’ feedback, we will enter you in a drawing for prizes including for classroom material!
Registration for the beta test period will end Friday, January 3rd, 2025, so be sure to sign up before then to be part of the drawing. The feedback collection period will end on Friday, January 31st, 2025, and prizes will be announced on Friday, February 28th, 2025 (winners will be contacted by email).
